Instructor Training

Have a full UK Driving Licence, for a minimum period of 3 years

Have no more than 3 points on your driving licence

Be over 21 years of age

Pass a Criminal Records Check

To start your process to become an Approved Driving Instructor you will need to register with the DVSA.
The process involves:

  • Obtaining a DBS

  • Apply to be on DVSA register

  • Find a trainer -Miah's Driving School (ADI/PDI Training) can take you through all three parts of your training

  • Study for Part 1 (Theory Test)

  • Train for your driving ability test

  • Train for your instructional ability test

  • Register and start working as an ADI

Miah's driving School, can offer you an excellent training package which will cover all 3 ADI qualifying tests.  The training you receive will be on a 1-2-1 basis throughout the training.

Unlike some national training establishments, we will not leave you to train for Part one on your own. We will be there every step of the way.  We will provide you with a comprehensive list of reading material to help you prepare for all three parts. (There is a little more than just reading the Highway code required).

Training will consist of:

  1. Theory Training, home self study, All relevant training material will be supplied for this part of the course. At this stage you will meet our trainer with no cost to you, to help you prepare for the test. Tips and guidance will be offered.

  2. Driver training. -6 hours of driver training to prepare you for your ADI Part 2 test. - Includes a workbook. minimum 3hr sessions. So 2 in total

  3. Instructional training - 40 hours of instructional training to prepare you for your ADI Part 3 test. - Includes workbook 'TCIT' from Tri-coaching Partnership. Minimum of 5hr sessions, so 8 in total.

  4. Help throughout you are never left on you own. We will also assist you on further preparing for your Standards check for the near future.

All course fees to be paid fully before the commencement of the course. Failure to do so will result in your training being on hold. Hourly rate is from £45phr (Tameside area). Full course prices will be at a reduced rate.
